For Calvary Worship Center, making disciples and shepherding their 3000+ congregants are their top priorities. How Processes Help Discipleship
A simple process is crucial for helping anyone to go deeper in their discipleship. For Mark, knowing and sharing their process was critical. He met with his team over four weeks to make sure everyone knew the process and their responsibility. That time spent training ensured that everyone involved knew what the system does and decreased the chances of people getting lost in the system.
For any process, Mark notes that you have to spell it out very simply. Before implementing a process, Calvary Worship Center had holes and gaps in discipling their church. But now with everyone on the same page, it’s easy for staff and congregation members to know what to expect. “[You] know their name, and you know how long they’ve been attending, and what they’ve been involved in. CCB helps with all of that. But in this process, it allows them not to get lost… It helped us become effective in this whole discipleship process.”
Mark’s advice is to have an administrator who can help implement and manage the process. He also recommends following through with maintaining the database because it won’t happen on its own.
Measuring Success of Digital Discipleship
After implementing their DNA process, Calvary Worship Center has seen great success among their staff and congregation. Staff don’t have to do things on their own or figure out how to get volunteers by themselves. Guests and church members have a clear process for getting connected and feel valued throughout the process. Mark has heard guests say that they know someone cares about them and their experience. Even senior leadership at the church weighed in, saying, “This is exactly what we need to do. As stewards, we’re responsible for these souls.” Their church now sees greater numbers of guests, members, and volunteers because there’s more consistency and follow-through. Taking the time to develop and implement these processes is a small investment as churches work to expand the Kingdom.
