Move to Pushpay without losing your givers
Your giving history transfers with you. Your recurring givers move through a guided process built to retain existing gifts and grow your base of recurring givers, through a dedicated implementation specialist that handles configuration and data import.
Have you outgrown your platform?
You've done the math on your current tech provider. Fees creep up every year. Donor support tickets keep landing on your desk. Half your data lives in the giving tool, half in the database, and somehow a Google Form somebody set up years ago is still in the workflow. The cost of switching feels worse than the cost of staying, even when you know the staying cost is the bigger problem. Three concerns usually drive it:
- Recurring givers might drop off.
- Donor history might fragment between systems.
- A migration that promises weeks quietly turns into months.
How a migration is run determines whether those concerns stay hypothetical. We’ve built ours to make sure they do.
A dedicated specialist, through the whole process
Every migration is assigned a dedicated implementation specialist who owns the timeline, configures your account, oversees data import, and trains your team. You're not handed a knowledge base and left to figure it out yourself.
When LibertyLive.Church moved to Pushpay, it was their third giving platform in just a few years. Justin Greene called it "by far the easiest" they’d ever worked with, crediting the five-step process and the tools that came with it.
Your specialist works through four core areas:
Configuring your Pushpay environment to match how your church actually works, including funds, user roles, branded giving pages, integrations, and reporting.
Importing your donor records and giving history.
Moving your recurring gifts through the Recurring Migration tool (more on that below.)
Training your team on what they'll use weekly. Finance learns reconciliation, communications learns the giving page editor, pastoral staff learns donor development
You’ll approve the configured environment before launch. Your specialist stays close through the first giving cycles, then transitions you to ongoing customer success.
This was our third platform move, but it was by far the easiest. Pushpay's templates made the process painless and fast.Justin Greene · LibertyLive.Church
The Recurring Migration tool
The Recurring Migration tool is built specifically to move your recurring givers from your previous system to Pushpay without disrupting their schedule.
-
Customizable email campaigns
Pre-built templates your Pushpay specialist customizes for your church. You send the templates, your donors complete the move.
-
A real-time dashboard
You see who's switched, who hasn't, and where to focus follow-up.
-
Automated follow-up reminders
For donors who started but didn't finish their migration, the tool keeps the prompt front-of-mind.
The tools you already use to stay connected
Planning Center for scheduling. MortarStone for analytics. Pushpay connects with 60+ integration partners, and your specialist confirms which ones you'll need during discovery.
If something doesn't connect cleanly, you find out before your congregation does.
Donor data handled the way a bank would
PCI-DSS Level 1
The strictest level of payment card industry security certification. The same standard required of major financial institutions.
99.99% uptime
Easter morning, Christmas Eve, the last week of December. The platform stays up when it matters most.
Direct payment processing
Pushpay operates as an ISO — meaning we own the merchant relationship and control the full donation experience rather than passing it off to a third-party platform.
First Orlando moved off a 1970s-era system in 2017
Matthew Robinson, Pastor of Ministries and Administration at First Orlando, inherited a church management system built on computer punch cards in the late 1970s and modified by in-house developers for decades. When staff turned over, the customizations stopped getting maintained. Data was scattered across spreadsheets and databases that nobody could touch without breaking something.
"We talk about generosity at First Orlando as the good that we are able to do for Heaven here on Earth."Matthew Robinson, Pastor of Ministries & Admin, First Orlando
Frequently asked questions
Will my donors lose their giving history?
No. Donor records and giving history move into Pushpay during the data import step. Year-to-date totals, recurring schedules, and pledge balances stay attached to each donor's record.
How does the Recurring Migration tool work?
Three pieces. Customizable email templates prompt donors to re-set up their gift on Pushpay. A real-time dashboard shows you who's moved and who hasn't. Automated follow-up reminders go to donors who started but didn't finish.
Can we keep the tools we already use?
Most likely yes. Pushpay maintains 60+ integrations through our partners, including Planning Center, Mailchimp, QuickBooks Online, MortarStone, and Sage. Your specialist confirms each integration during discovery.
